The Stoker works with almost any Barbque or Smoker

The Stoker is a device that controls your cooker similar to the way your oven is controlled. A temperature sensor is placed in the cooking chamber where you want your temperature controlled. A blower is placed so air is blown into the firebox. The Stoker turns the blower on and off to "stoke" the fire to keep the temperature sensor at the set point. You can add food temperature sensors to get your food at exactly the temperature you want. One Stoker can control several cookers or you can add as many food and pit temperature sensors as you need.

Connect a network cable from the Stoker to your computer or to your computer network and the Stoker will serve a web page. No special software is required. Use your web browser like Internet Explorer, FireFox or Safari. Get complete control of your cooker with the computer you already have from anywhere you have network access.

There are many portable devices that will work as a remote for the Stoker. If it has a web browser and can access the internet you can control your Stoker with it. When you go to a barbecue contest you can connect a wireless bridge to the Stoker and check your cook status from the comfort of your sleeping quarters.

If you are a super geek you have reached the nirvana where BBQ and technology meat uh er meet.

Kaytat Software developed the Stoker with a somewhat open architecture that some users quickly took advantage of. We encourage people to use their Stoker for anything and we have been surprised at some of the kewl things people have done. Amir M (retired VP from Microsoft) developed "StokerLog." It is an application that runs on your PC that turns your Stoker into a real time temperature logger. It also adds many other kewl functions to the Stoker like email and text message alarms, lid open detection and more. Amir posts on TVWBB in the forum for temperature control. The software is free. Warren P is another guy working on Stoker software he posts in the big Green Egg forum as unconondrum.
