Building a Fire

The trick to building a long burning fire is arranging the fuel (briquettes or lump) so that it continues to feed itself without going out before all the fuel is burned. With charcoal briquettes being uniform in size you just load your firebox with as many briquettes as you can. When using lump charcoal put the largest pieces in the bottom placing them as tightly as possable. As you stack you can use smaller pieces. Make sure you load enough fuel for your complete cook. You can use a torch to light the top until you get it lit pretty good. You can also use the fire starters made from parafin. If you use a chimney starer be carefull not to load to much hot coal to start.
