Best Grilling Glove Reviews

Here’s my list of the best grilling gloves in 2024. I’ll start with my standout choice and then cover nine other products that made my list because of their superior value, quality, durability, and design.

1. BlueFire Heat Resistant BBQ Gloves – Best Overall Choice #1

BlueFire Heat Resistant BBQ Gloves

BlueFire Heat Resistant BBQ Gloves are in the top five for a few reasons.

To start, they are made from a blend of Kevlar, aramid, Nomex, and silicone. These are some of the toughest wearable materials on the market.

The beauty, though, is that these gloves are comfortable. They don’t chafe, and despite the rugged material, they are surprisingly breathable.

These silicone gloves are ideal for large hands because they only come in two sizes: large and extra-large.

The 13” length is ideal. Not too long, not too short. Just the right amount of protection and comfort.

So even when I have to reach the deepest corner of the grill to flip kebab skewers or handle hot meat, my wrists and the lower part of my forearms are protected.

Did I mention that these gloves are also cut-resistant? They’re made from CE-Level 3 fiber, which allows you to work with knives and sharp utensils without risk of cutting yourself.

That’s what’s so extraordinary about these gloves. They can take the heat. They increase hand safety when working with sharp objects, but they don’t inhibit skill or movement.

I have several pairs of these grill gloves because they are helpful in different environments.

I use them behind a hot grill. And I have another pair that I stash next to my wood-burning stove. When I have to open the door to add more fuel, my hands are safe.

I’ve also used these heat protection gloves on camping excursions, worn them when working on a hot car engine, and sported them in the workshop.

That’s the beauty of these gloves. They are protective, comfortable, and valuable for just about any situation. Heck, in a pinch, I’ve even used these gloves as hot pads.

If you’re looking for a rugged, affordable, and comfortable pair of grill armor gloves, check out the BlueFire Heat Resistant BBQ Gloves.

2. Weber 6535 Premium Black Grilling Gloves – Best Overall Choice #2

Weber 6535 Premium Black Grilling Gloves

After scorching my fingers one too many times over the grill, I decided it was time to invest in a Weber 6535 Premium Black Grilling Glove. I haven’t looked back since.

These gloves are flexible, tough, comfortable, and allow me to safely hand-flip cumbersome items over scorching hot flames.

These gloves protect hands at temperatures up to 482 degrees Fahrenheit.

These grill gloves are also the ideal length. They sit a couple of inches over the wrist, ideal for maximum comfort and dexterity behind the grill.

I have large hands and these BBQ gloves fit perfectly. Not too tight, not too loose.

These grill gloves come in only two sizes: large and extra-large. So if you have big mitts like me, you may have met your match!

These oven mitts are made from a flexible, heat-resistant material that’s sturdy – not so thin that my hands are at risk, not so thick that I can’t manage thin kabob skewers.

A bonus is that these grill gloves maximize grip because they have a textured silicone palm.

In addition to being protective, these gloves are also handsome. Black hides grease stains and sauces. As a Weber-enthusiast, I also like the addition of the red cuffs and the Weber tag.

If you’re looking for a reasonably-priced pair of heat-resistant gloves, consider the Weber 6535 Premium Black Grilling Glove.

These barbeque gloves are well made, stylish, provide lock-jaw gripping power, and were made to last.

3. OZERO 932°F Heat Resistant Leather Welding BBQ Grill Gloves

OZERO Heat Resistant Leather Welding BBQ Grill Gloves

View on Amazon

OZERO Heat Resistant Leather Welding BBQ Grill Gloves made my list of the best BBQ gloves because they are rugged, made for extreme heat resistant applications, and, just as important, comfortable to wear.

This protective glove is made from genuine split cow leather. The tops and cuffs are a handsome grey, and the palms are black.

If you’re prone to spilling, you’ll like that these gloves hide oil and sauce stains nicely – and over time, they develop a unique, aged patina.

I also like leather because it forms to your hand with time and wear. You can’t achieve the same feel from other fabric gloves.

In addition to being handsome, this BBQ glove also maximizes forearm protection. From tip to cuff, this welding glove is 16”.

The cuff rises to 7.5” over the forearm, so feel free to play over radiant heat, grab hot items, and handle hot metal. You won’t feel a thing – yet you won’t have to compromise dexterity.

These high-heat gloves are 1.2 mm thick, so they provide maximum protection – more than I’ll ever need, to be honest.

Just as important, these gloves are comfortable. They don’t slip, and they also feature a soft jersey cotton liner that’s sweat absorbent and surprisingly cool.

These gloves come in a universal size ideal for average-sized hands but perfectly suitable for small hands.

It’s worth mentioning that OZERO backs these gloves with a 90-day money-back guarantee.

So whether you’re handing burning logs, deep-frying, or negotiating hot metal, OZERO Heat Resistant Leather Welding BBQ Grill Gloves are up for the challenge.

4. RAPICCA Extra-Long Leather BBQ Gloves

RAPICCA Extra-Long Leather BBQ Gloves

View on Amazon

RAPICCA Extra-Long Leather BBQ Gloves are made of heat- and open flame-resistant split leather.

But that’s not what distinguishes these grill gloves from the pack.

It’s the fact that RAPICCA is the only brand on the market that makes BBQ gloves with double-reinforced Kevlar padding on the fingers, palms, elbow, and glove backs.

That level of protection is unrivaled.

Even the glove stitching is made out of kevlar. So while these gloves will more than suffice during your outdoor cooking sessions, they’re built to endure far more rugged applications.

Not all grill gloves can live up to that claim.

These BBQ gloves are 16” long, which maximizes protection up to your forearms.

So go ahead and reach across those piping hot grill grates, handle metal kabob skewers, and pull hot meat off of your rotisserie spit. You can do all of this with maximum safety and agility.

These barbecue gloves are made of a combination of leather and Kevlar, so they are not machine washable.

These gloves also have a lot of personality. The cuffs are a sleek royal blue color; the palms and tops are a mustard suede blend. You don’t typically see that color pallet on a pair of outdoor cooking gloves, which I like.

I should also mention that RAPICCA backs these BBQ oven gloves with a lifetime warranty. If you’re not happy, they’re not either. So go ahead and give RAPICCA Extra-Long Leather BBQ Gloves a shot.

These extra-long suede gloves provide maximum protection during outdoor cooking sessions without feeling bulky, cumbersome, or hot. And the best part: They’re incredibly affordable.

5. WZQH Heat Resistant Leather Grill Gloves

WZQH Heat Resistant Leather Grill Gloves

View on Amazon

WZQH Heat Resistant Leather Grill Gloves are made for grilling but tough enough to survive welding jobs, forging, heavy construction work – maybe even the apocalypse!

The outer layer of these welding gloves is made from 1.2 mm thick genuine cowhide split leather that is heat, wear, puncture, cut, and oil-resistant.

When I said that these gloves could survive Armageddon, I wasn’t joking.

Then there’s an intermediate layer made by laminating a high-temperature resistant aluminum foil and flame retardant cotton cloth.

Surprisingly, these welding gloves are incredibly comfortable – and that’s because the inner layer is lined with 100 percent cotton.

Because of that, these high heat gloves are sweat-absorbent, breathable, and allergy-free.

I like that these gloves are reinforced and double-stitched on the palms. And did I mention that these gloves withstand high heat up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit?

In total, these gloves are 16” long from fingertip to cuff. The 7.5” sleeve protects my arms from hot pans, nicks from hot grill grates, grease splatters, and just about any kind of calamity that could ever happen to me behind a hot grill.

For a set of leather gloves of this quality, the price tag is unbelievably low. So low that it calls into question the “You get what you pay for” line.

If you’re looking for rugged leather gloves that are tough enough to use on welding jobs but comfortable enough to use at home behind the hot grill, check out the WZQH Heat Resistant Leather Grill Gloves.

6. Grill Heat Aid BBQ Gloves

Grill Heat Aid BBQ Gloves

Grill Heat Aid BBQ Gloves are another pair of my favorite barbecue gloves.

If you need a little flexibility in size (small to extra-large) and want oven mitts with a bit of personality, you’re going to like these heat-resistant gloves.

These gloves come in five sizes: extra-small, small, small/medium, extra-large, and a one-size-fits-all cut with an extra-long cuff.

I also like that these grilling gloves have nine unique designs and colors: black, full black,  mint, blue, red, cool grey, dusky grey, Spiderman (really!), and hot pink.

Let’s talk a little about the manufacturing materials. These grill gloves are made from aramid fabric, which is high-performance, heat-resistant, and heavy-duty.

The fabric is known for its ability to handle up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit of heat.

Despite their rugged design, these gloves are incredibly comfortable and do not inhibit dexterity.

Because of that, they are helpful when working with hot coals – and equally as effective as multi-purpose gloves.

I’ve used these in the workshop, under the hood of a car, and even when refueling my vehicle. They keep my hands clean, safe, and comfortable in just about any work environment.

I should also mention that the inside of these grill gloves is cotton-lined.

Cotton is breathable, sweat absorbing, and soft on the hands. Even on the hottest days, I can work over hot coals and smoldering grill grates and stay dry.

If you need size flexibility and enjoy unique style with a little pop of color, check out the Grill Heat Aid BBQ Gloves.

7. Pit Mitt Charcoal Companion Ultimate Barbecue Glove

Pit Mitt Charcoal Companion Ultimate Barbecue Glove

The Pit Mitt Charcoal Companion Ultimate Barbecue Glove is another fantastic set of gloves.

These aramid fabric gloves provide maximum high heat protection without inhibiting movement and grip.

Aramid is a synthetic material that is used in aerospace and military applications. It’s prominently used to manufacture ballistic-rated body armor.

That should give you a sense of how tough these synthetic gloves are.

Pitt Master added a textured silicone pattern on the tops and bottoms of each glove to increase agility.

Because of that, these gloves are double-sided, which gives you twice as much bang for your buck! When one side wears, simply flip it over.

These gloves don’t give you quite the same amount of protection as, say, the RAPICCA Extra-Long Leather BBQ Gloves or the WZQH Heat Resistant Leather Grill Gloves, but they can withstand temperatures up to 475 degrees Fahrenheit – and that’s plenty.

While leather-kevlar blends provide maximum protection and healthy finger movement, you’ll never get the firm grip and finger freedom you’ll get with aramid fabric.

And that’s one of the main reasons these gloves made my best-of list.

These gloves are 13” long from fingertip to cuff – and that’s plenty long for the average griller.

I have long arms, but these gloves cover my entire wrist and a couple of inches of the forearm. Because of that, I handle boiling water, negotiate open flame, and flip hot food with confidence.

What’s more, these stain-resistant gloves look sleek and stylish and have good water resistance.

They come in a dark charcoal black color, which hides grease and grit. I also like the webbed, double-sided silicone texture on the tops and palms of these gloves.

If you’re looking for maximum control, ample protection, an affordable price tag, and sleek design, check out the Pit Mitt Charcoal Companion Ultimate Barbecue Glove.

8. Grill Heat Aid Lightweight Heat Resistant Gloves

Grill Heat Aid Lightweight Heat Resistant Gloves

If you’re looking for the kind of protection you’d get from welding leather gloves, but want to maximize dexterity and grip, check out Grill Heat Aid Lightweight Heat Resistant Gloves.

Unlike most fabric gloves on the market, these are made to withstand up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit.

So no matter what you throw at them – hot food, hot steam, open flame – your hands will be protected.

These BBQ gloves are made from EN407-certified aramid fabric, a material used in military and ballistics applications.

Despite their rugged design, these gloves are comfortable and surprisingly flexible. I have no trouble grabbing hot pans, moving hot logs, or flipping hot meat kabobs.

These gloves come in five sizes and have a heck of a lot of personalities.

Choose from nine unique designs: black, full black, mint, blue, red, cool grey, dusty grey, Spiderman, and hot pink.

These grilling gloves look great and feel just as good. The cotton liner makes these gloves breathable, sweat absorbing, and soft on the hands. So even on the hottest days, my hands stay cool and dry.

Also worth mentioning, these gloves are cut-resistant and four times stronger than leather gloves. As a result, they’re helpful in all kinds of applications.

I’ve used these in the workshop, under the hood of a car, and even when refueling my vehicle. They keep my hands clean, safe, and comfortable in just about any work environment.

If you’re looking for an affordable set of the best heat-resistant gloves that are tougher than nails yet comfortable, take a look at Grill Heat Aid Lightweight Heat Resistant Gloves.

9. Caiman Genuine American Deerskin Grilling Gloves

Caiman Genuine American Deerskin Grilling Gloves

View on Amazon

I recently purchased a portable pizza oven. It was a game-changing splurge, but you know what makes the experience even better? A pair of Caiman Genuine American Deerskin Grilling Gloves.

These leather gloves are designed for overhead welding, so they are 21” from tip to cuff. That might seem like overkill for traditional grillers.

But if you’ve ever slid pizza into a 1,000 Fahrenheit brick pizza oven, you understand why I welcome the extra five inches of protection these gloves offer.

That said, these gloves are equally useful behind the grill, especially for those with extra-deep grills, smokers, and charcoal units that require a lot of hands-on attention.

These gloves are made from genuine American deer and boar hide leathers. They come with a heat shield patch, reinforced palm, cuff, and a lean-on patch.

To ensure extra durability, these leather gloves are reinforced with kevlar thread. So these gloves won’t fray, tear, or come apart. So use them liberally and put them to the test.

In addition to being rugged, these gloves are also handsome and comfortable. I like the mustard-suede color. I also like how these gloves wear over time.

Leather always ages well, even if it is stained and battle-scarred. And the natural beauty of leather is how it forms to your hand.

When we work, our hands release natural oils. And with time, leather absorbs it, softens, and reshapes to fit our hands. The more you use these gloves, the better they’ll look and feel.

These gloves come in two sizes: one-size-fits-all and large. The smaller size will accommodate most hands without inhibiting movement or sliding off.

If you’re looking for extra arm protection, check out the Caiman Genuine American Deerskin Grilling Gloves. These are some of the longest, most comfortable, and affordable grill gloves on the market.

10. Grillin Chill Gear Meat Claws and Grilling Gloves

Grillin Chill Gear Meat Claws and Grilling Gloves

If you love two-for-one deals as much as I do, you’re going to love Grillin Chill Gear Meat Claws and Grilling Gloves.

Shredding meat is a messy and time-consuming affair – and it’s incredibly taxing when you’re doing it with bare hands and without food-grade meat claws.

If you want to make life easier on your hands, check out what this package has to offer.

Included in your purchase is a set of heat-resistant gloves that can withstand up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit of flame power.

I’ve used these gloves as a grill heat aid, worn them when handling hot logs or during deep-frying sessions.

They provide ample protection and maximum comfort in every situation – and that includes shredding.

I also like that these gloves have heat-resistant silicone strips on the top and palms. These silicone gloves protect your hands and give you a better grip when handling food.

Now for the meat claws: This grill tool features non-slip handles and ample knuckle space, making it easier than ever to shred meats.

These food-grade meat claws are nearly 4.5” wide and just as long. So this unit sits comfortably in my hand and gives me great control, reach, and power over hot items.

What to look for in a good pair of grilling gloves

While grilling gloves are all designed to carry out the same function (protect your hands!), they are not created equally!

As I see it, there are three essential features to consider before purchasing: material, dexterity, cuff length, and heat resistance.

Material

The most popular grill gloves are made from leather, a leather-blend, or aramid fabric.

Leather is a natural material – and it’s tough. So tough that it is the chosen material for welders, forgers, and heavy construction workers.

Manufacturers often blend leather with other materials like aluminum foil and flame retardant cotton cloth to increase strength and comfort.

In addition to being durable and heat resistant, grill gloves also age incredibly well. The more you wear them, the more comfortable and form-fitting they become.

But leather is not without limitation. Grilling is often a hands-on activity that requires nimble hands and fingers.

Leather gloves are rugged, but they may also inhibit movement, especially when you’re trying to negotiate thin kabob skewers.

Aramid is a synthetic material used to manufacture ballistic-rated body armor. So it’s incredibly tough, flexible, and able to withstand scorching hot temperatures.

A typical aramid fiber grilling glove protects up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit of heat. The best leather gloves can compete with that.

What they can’t compete with is the dexterity you get from an aramid glove.

Dexterity

Free, uninhibited movement is vital to grillers. We work with tools, grates, and delicate food items – all of which require maximum grip and free movement.

And that’s the rub.

Grilling gloves protect our hands, but the wrong pair can also inhibit feel and movement.

So while you’re shopping, consider the material and thickness of the glove. If you frequently grill delicate seafood, roast on a spit, and enjoy kabobs, you may prefer aramid gloves to leather.

Aramid is protective, but it is also more flexible and less inhibiting than leather.

Cuff Length

Barbecue gloves come in different lengths. Some rise to the wrist. Like the Caiman Genuine American Deerskin Grilling Gloves, others rise 21” inches and cover a decent amount of the forearm.

Average grillers will likely find that 13” gloves are more than sufficient.

However, if you’re working on large barrel-style smokers, brick pizza ovens, or extra-large patio grills, you may benefit from more extended cuffs.

The deeper and hotter the grill, the further you have to reach – and the more protection you need.

Heat-Resistance

Grill gloves provide protection anywhere from 432 degrees Fahrenheit to 932 degrees Fahrenheit.

Before you purchase, look at the BTU rating on your home grill and take note of the hood-mounted thermometer the next time you’re cooking.

At what temperature does your grill max out?

Many home grills max out at 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Others surpass 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit without even trying.

If your grill peaks at 500 degrees Fahrenheit, you probably don’t need 1,000 degrees Fahrenheit of protection.

What are the best heat-resistant grilling gloves for you?

What’s the best grilling glove on the market? Ultimately, that depends on your grilling regimen, material preference, and the amount of protection you need.

If I had to choose a standout set of gloves, it’d be the Weber 6535 Premium Black Grilling Glove.

Weber made a glove that is tough and protective without inhibiting feel and movement.

These gloves only protect hands from 482 degrees Fahrenheit of heat, but that should be sufficient for the average griller.

If you do a lot of hand flipping, you’ll benefit from the textured silicone palm, which increases grip and keeps slippery kabobs from falling out of your hand.

If you’re looking for a reasonably-priced pair of gloves that provide good protection without inhibiting movement, the Weber 6535 Premium Black Grilling Glove may be the best choice for you.

I hope you enjoyed my review of the best heat-resistant BBQ grilling gloves!
