A 3-burner gas grill is an ideal choice for cooks who value the high heat output and ample cooking surface they’d get with large grills but at a fraction of the price.
Three-burner grills may be compact, but they are mighty no-fuss machines that often cook just as well as far more expensive grills. Plus, these grills have a few surprising perks: they’re affordable, stow easily, and travel as well as they cook.
In this 3-burner gas grill review, I list my favorite models to help you find the unit that fits your size requirement, budget, and cooking needs.
The Best 3 Burner Gas Grills for 2023
Below is my list of the 11 best 3-burner gas grill options available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the U.K in 2023. I’ll start with the top 5 overall choices, then go into the reviews and best options for different needs.
1. Weber Spirit II E-310 Grill 3-Burner Gas Grill – Best Overall Choice #1
View on Amazon
Weber consistently makes sleek, durable, technology-infused grills, and the Spirit II E-310 is no exception.
The Weber 3 burner gas grill features an open-cart design. Unlike many other budget-friendly grills, Weber includes two collapsible side shelves and an open shelf below the grill carriage. This means that you’ll have ample prep space and an expansive center shelf to store cookware, plates, and spices.
Because this is an open-cart grill, your propane tank is visible. I don’t mind this because Weber’s design allows you to mount the tank to the side of the cart, which makes swapping propane tanks quick and easy. I also like that the unit includes a built-in fuel gauge, so I always know how much propane I have.
Extra amenities include Weber’s signature Flavorizer bar technology. Just below the porcelain-enameled cast-iron grates rest a series of v-shaped bars. These bars serve a few purposes: not only do they capture drippings, vaporize them, and redistribute that flavor back into your food, they also keep the burner tubes from clogging while also preventing flare-ups.
And since we’re talking about burner tubes, it’s worth mentioning that a 10-year warranty backs these. The rest of the grill is guaranteed under a five-year warranty.
Because the grill grates are reversible, you’re able to get creative with your cooking. For delicate foods like fish and shrimp, use the thin side. When you want to achieve steakhouse sear lines, flip the grate over and use the wider side.
If you like a little pop of color, Weber planned ahead. This grill comes in three color choices: red, blue, white, and black.
If you’re shopping for a handsome mid-priced grill but don’t want to skimp on some of the extras that will improve your cooking experience, the Weber Spirit II E-310 may be your best choice.
- Boasts the GS4 grilling system with improved infinity ignition, burners, porcelain-enameled Glamorizer Bars, and grease...
- Porcelain-enameled, cast iron cooking grates
- 529 Square inches of cooking space over three burners. Left Table down width - 42 inches
2. Char-Griller E3001 Grillin’ Pro Grill Gas Grill – Best Overall Choice #2
View on Amazon
The Char-Griller E3001 is made of thick powder-coated stainless steel, which is as dense as the steel you’d get with a grill that costs three times as much as the E3001. In addition to durable construction, you also get 630 square inches of cooking surface, 40,800 BTUs of flame power, and a 12,000 BTU side burner.
Char-Griller has been producing the E3001 for at least a decade, and I’m pleasantly surprised to see several subtle but significant improvements on the new model. In the past, Char-Griller welded their six support brackets to the grill body, which wasn’t a problem—until they began to rust.
More recently, the company stopped welding and switched to bracket screws. This improvement allows you to replace rusty brackets (for about $12) easily and extends this 3-burner gas grill’s life.
Another simple but useful upgrade is a small pin, which secures the grates, keeping them from shifting around during cooking and cleanup.
Since we’re talking about the grates, I should mention these are made of porcelain-coated cast iron, which keeps food from sticking and makes them easy to clean. Worth noting, too; this unit includes a side shelf, which is ideal for prepping.
This is technically an open-cart design, so while the propane tank remains hidden behind a sheet of metal, you don’t have a cabinet to store cooking supplies and tools. That’s a small price to pay for a grill that’s as well-constructed as this one.
If you’re looking for a budget-friendly, rock-solid grill that will endure years of use (and abuse), the Char-Griller E3001 is a grill box worth considering.

3. Char-Broil Classic 360 3-Burner Gas Grill
View on Amazon
If you’re slim on cash and square footage, but you still want a lightweight and powerful three-burner grill that accommodates large family meals, the Char-Broil 360 may be a good choice.
This grill has 360 square inches of cooking surface (enough to accommodate about 15 burgers) but weighs under 40 pounds and takes up little space. This is ideal for apartment or balcony grillers who need ample grilling surface but need it contained to a grill box that is slim, mobile, and doesn’t overtake what limited space they have.
The Char-Broil Classic 360 is one of the most affordable grills on my list, yet it still gives you plenty to write home about.
The grates are porcelain-coated, which means easier cleanup, less sticking, and longer lifespan. The inline burners are made out of stainless steel and backed by Char-Broil’s generous five-year warranty.
Like the Char-Griller E3001, this 3-burner propane grill has an open-cart design. Your propane tank will be visible, and you won’t have a cabinet for extra storage. However, this small gas grill comes with two 12-inch side shelves, which gives you a place to prep and lay your tools.
When you consider the price, heat output (30,000 BTUs), and the fact that this machine is lightweight and leaves a small footprint, The Char-Broil Classic 360 is worth consideration.
- 360 square inches of cooking space over porcelain-coated grates. Convectional cooking system
- 170 square inch porcelain-coated swing-a-way rack for warming
- Three stainless steel in-line burners for cooking performance
4. Royal Gourmet PD1300 Portable 3-Burner Propane Gas Grill Griddle
View on Amazon
If you’re looking for portability, compact design, stainless-steel construction, and the freedom to cook various foods in virtually any environment, the Royal Gourmet PD1300 gas grill may be an ideal choice.
This 3-burner propane gas grill features over 316 square inches of primary cooking space and a porcelain enamel flat top griddle, making this grill ideal for all-day events like picnics and tailgate parties. Those who require a little flexibility in their cooking device will like the griddle-top design, which allows you to cook breakfast foods, grilled sandwiches, sides, and traditional grill items all on one unit.
Other features include three independently controlled stainless-steel burners that emit 27,000 BTUs of combined cooking power.
If you’re tired of breaking your back, enjoy the flexibility to cook a variety of foods, and don’t want to spend a lot of money to get it, the Royal Gourmet PD1300 may be the grill for you.
This is the most affordable grill on my list, but that doesn’t mean it is cheap. On the contrary, the Royal Gourmet PD1300 gas grill is well-designed, robust, and backed by a complete one-year warranty. Royal’s five-year warranty also protects the burners.
- Adjustable Burner: 3 separately controlled burners with 9,000 BTU each, up to 27,000 BTU cooking power and achieve even heat...

5. Weber Genesis II E310 Gas Grill
View on Amazon
The Genesis II E310 gas grill shares the same features as the less expensive Weber Spirit II E-310. Still, it gives you 140 extra square inches of cooking space and a porcelain-enameled lid, ensuring better heat retention and even distribution. This unit also has superior BTU power over the Spirit II E-310, which is a nice bonus.
As you should expect from Weber, the Genesis II E-310 includes a bundle of extras. These include porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, a fuel gauge that monitors your propane levels, two stainless steel prep tables, and an extra shelf that rests below the grill box.
Additionally, the Genesis II E-310 is iGrill 3 compatible, a convenience that monitors your food and relays your temperature. in real-time, directly to your mobile device.
As you might expect, this grill includes Flavorizer bar technology. Thanks to the Weber design, grease is captured, vaporized, and redistributed back into your food. What’s more, flare-ups are eliminated, and cleanup is a breeze!
Since I mentioned cleanup, let’s talk about this grill’s grease management system. The Flavorizer bars capture most excess grease and vaporize it. What doesn’t evaporate is funneled down into the disposable drip tray. To clean, remove the drip tray, dump the disposable aluminum basket into the trash and replace it with a new one. No scrubbing is required.
This grill is on the higher end of the mid-priced grill family, but it is still an affordable and worthy investment. The Genesis II E-310 comes with ample cooking space, superior BTU power, stainless steel construction, and is backed by a generous 10-year warranty.

6. Camp Chef Big Gas Grill Three Burner Stove
View on Camp Chef
If you’re a budget griller who values portability and no-nonsense design, check out the Camp Chef Big Gas Grill. This grill weighs only 49 pounds, folds up for easy transportation, and comes with removable legs, making this an ideal choice for tailgaters, campers, and boaters.
This grill doesn’t pretend to be something it’s not. You don’t get LED lighting, a fuel barometer, or iGrill compatibility.
What do get are 90,000 BTUs of firepower, a 608-square-inch cooking surface, pre-seasoned cast iron grill grates, and removable independent leveling legs. All of this is packed into a sturdy, lightweight design that picks up and goes wherever the road takes you.
If you are power-tool and assembly-challenged, you may now rejoice aloud!
The Camp Chef Big Gas Grill is ready to use out of the box. No tools are necessary. Attach your legs, connect the hose and regulator (both included) to your grill and tank, and fire up the grill. That’s all there is to it.
Unlike most grills, this one has a low-profile grill box top. Some of you may be put off by this, but I see this design choice as an advantage. For one, a lower-profile lid means that this grill heats up quickly simply because there’s less space to warm. Second, it makes the grill more responsive to heat change and speeds up cooking time.
This grill gets extra points for its roaring BTU power, ample cooking surface, no-fuss assembly, and a price tag that won’t make you blush.
- Matchless ignition - 38" x 16" cooking surface - Cooking surface area: 608 square inches
- Patented Wind Baffle Burner Technology, Appliance-style temperature controls
- Three cast aluminum burners - 90,000 total BTU/r
7. Royal Gourmet SG3001 3-Burner Gas Grill
View on Amazon
The Gourmet SG3001 is one of the most affordable and compact 3 burner propane grills on the list, but somehow Royal managed to squeeze in plenty of extras without charging you for them.
This three-burner grill comes with 39,900 BTUs of power, a 443-square-inch cooking surface, and two side tables—one of which converts into an extra side burner, which is perfect for preparing sides and sauces.
This is an open-cart design, but don’t be deceived: your propane tank is tucked behind a metal panel and always out of view! The firebox is porcelain coated, which means increased durability and better heat retention. The burners are made out of stainless steel, and the grates are porcelain-coated, which means a longer life expectancy, easy cleanup, and a cooking surface that doesn’t stick to your food.
Royal’s one-year warranty backs the entire grill. An additional five-year warranty protects the stainless steel burners.
If you’re a balcony griller on a budget and looking for a compact grill that gives you ample cooking surface and plenty of BTU power, the Gourmet SG3001 may be an ideal choice.

The Broil King Gem 320 gives you 426 square inches of cooking space, 24,000 BTUs of heat output, two drop-down side shelves, and an open-cart design that still conceals your propane tank.
Additional features include a rust-proof cast aluminum cook box, side ported dual-flame tube burners (which don’t clog with grease), and linear flow valves, which make dialing in your ideal temperature straightforward.
This grill reaches peak heat in under ten minutes and distributes flame power evenly.
It is also worth mentioning: This grill is manufactured in North America and comes with an impressive collection of warranties. Weber guarantees the lid and cook box for 10 years. A two-year warranty backs the cast iron grates, side burner, and extra parts and paint. The stainless steel main burners are guaranteed for five years.

9. Dyna-Glo 3-Burner Gas Grill
View on Amazon
The Dyna-Glo 3-Burner Gas Grill is one of the most affordable 3 burner grills on the market, making it ideal for budget grillers with limited storage space.
This compact unit still features plenty of cooking space (310 square inches) and enough heat output (24,000 BTUs) to achieve those beautiful steakhouse sears.
The Dyna-Glo three-burner gas grill comes with porcelain-coated cooking grates as well as porcelain-coated heat tents. This design choice eases cleanup and ensures that your food doesn’t stick to the cooking surface.
The heat tents, too, are a nice amenity. These aren’t built with the quality you’d expect from a Weber grill, but they will extend the life of your burners by catching and vaporizing juices. They also help prevent flare-ups and eliminate the chore of cleaning out grease-clogged burner tubes.
This is a compact unit, yet you’ll still enjoy plenty of prep and storage surfaces thanks to Dyna-Glo’s two large side tables.
Did I mention this grill is good-looking too? The Dyna-Glo features a high gloss black-on-black porcelain finish and a lightweight design that makes moving this grill around a breeze.
This Dyna-Glo grill features an open-cart design, but your tank is always out of the way—and out of view—because it sits behind a sturdy metal faceplate.
The Dyna-Glo three-burner gas grill is a handsome, no-frills piece of cooking hardware that performs well, heats quickly and evenly, and comes at a price tag that won’t make even the most budget-conscious grillers think twice.
10. Camp Chef Tahoe 3-Burner Stove
View on Amazon
If you’re looking for an ultra-high BTU cooking beast that is portable and lightweight yet still durable enough to accompany you on camping, tailgating, and family adventures, read on.
The Camp Chef Tahoe features 90,000 BTUs of heat output and a massive 608-square-inch cooking area that’s packed into a unit that weighs under 50 pounds.
Thanks to the detachable legs and fold-up design, setup and stowing are effortless. When you’re ready to go, let the grill cool, remove the legs, and tuck your hardware into Camp Chef’s traveling “gig” bag.
This unit looks and grills a heck of a lot like the Camp Chef Big Gas Grill. It has the same amount of cooking surface and BTU power. It even has the same color scheme and a similar price tag. What’s missing with the Camp Chef Taho are side tables and a lid. Otherwise, you’re looking at very similar units.
Like the Camp Chef Big Gas Grill, this unit is ready to use upon arrival. Unbox, attach the legs, connect your hose to the grill and tank, and fire it up! It’s that simple.
The Tahoe stays lit thanks to the three-sided windscreen, which blocks upper breezes and protects the burner housing heat box that sits below the grates.
Suppose you’re looking for an affordable travel grill that is tough, lightweight and has enough heat output and cooking surface to accommodate large family gatherings. In that case, the Camp Chef Tahoe is worth consideration.
- Three cast aluminum 30,000 BTU burners - 90K BTU/hr total
- Burner housing limits hot/cold spots and gives extra wind protection
- Fully adjustable heat-control dials - 30" cooking height

There’s a lot to like about this grill. Its pedestal design is as sleek as it is unique. I also like having two collapsible shelves that allow for plenty of prep space. Because these tables fold down, you’ll find that this slim grill gets even skinnier and will tuck and roll away when you have limited storage space. I also like having tool hooks, which keep my prep surfaces free of clutter.
Because this grill is powder-coated, the shell will withstand harsh weather without rusting or corroding.

So what is the best three-burner gas grill? That depends on your budget, needs, and preference.
If money is no object, I recommend the Weber Genesis II E310 gas grill. It’s the most expensive grill on the list but affordable enough to be within reach of the average consumer. And when you consider how well-built this unit is—not to mention that it is packed to the gills with extras—the price tag is easy to swallow.
