Stainless steel gas grills are one of my favorite categories of grills. Not only do they look great, but they’re also built to withstand sun, snow, rain, salt, and years of continuous use.
There are many stainless steel grill brands available—so even if you’re a grilling veteran who has cooked on stainless steel gas grills for years, narrowing down what you want (and what you can afford) can be challenging.
That’s why I put together this list of the 15 best stainless steel barbecue grill reviews.
You’ll find a detailed but easily digestible breakdown of each unit in this guide. Besides covering size, fuel source, heat output, durability, and warranty options, I’ll also discuss grill options that both casual and seasoned grillers will find useful.
The Top 15 Best Stainless Steel Gas Grills for 2023
Here is my list of the 15 best stainless steel gas grills in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and the U.K in 2023. I’ll start with the best 3 overall choices, then go into the reviews and best options for different needs.
1. Monument 4-Burner Stainless Steel Grill – Best Overall Choice #1
The Monument Grill 4-Burner Stainless Steel Grill delivers 683 square inches of cooking area, 60,000 BTUs of cooking power, and packs it all into one sharp-looking, feature-driven package.
This unit may be missing lid-mounted lighting, but it does include backlit LED knobs, which makes dialing in your burner settings easy in low lighting situations. I also like having access to a rotisserie kit, which is powered by an enclosed 120V motor to protect it from outdoor elements.
In keeping with Monument’s commitment to utility and design, this unit comes with a lid-mounted temperature gauge and an enclosed cart, which keeps your tank neatly tucked away while still leaving plenty of room for accessory storage. Also included are two side shelves with hardware hooks and a removable grease tray that’s easy to access and quick to clean.
Monument may not have all the bells and whistles of a high-end grill. Nonetheless, it is reasonably priced, built with 304-grade stainless steel, one of the highest grade metals in use, and ideal for casual to moderate grillers on a budget.

Like other grills in Weber’s Genesis series, the S-335 is loaded with additional features. These include an extra burner (perfect for simmering your sides), stainless steel rod cooking grates to provide even heat distribution, a warming rack, an enclosed storage area, and side tables for hardware and plates. The grill is iGrill 3 ready, but it also includes a center-mounted thermometer.
The grease management system makes cleaning quick and easy. I also like the closed-cart design, which adds to the storage space you’ll already have because of built-in side shelves and additional two cart shelves.
To save you a trip to the hardware store, Weber includes a 10-foot flexible natural gas hose. A 10-year warranty also backs the Weber Genesis II S-335.

A bonus on this moderately-priced grill is a 10,000 BTU lidded side burner, which folds down for protection and increased workspace.
If you’re looking for a little extra storage and prep space, this unit has two side shelves. Additional features include a lid-mounted temperature gauge, a removable grease pan and tray, and a 150-square-inch swing-away warming rack, ideal for warming sides or toasting buns.
If you need the grilling space that comes with having four burners, want solid heat output, but are shopping on a budget, the Char-Broil Performance Stainless Steel 4-Burner Cart Style Gas Grill may be a good choice.

In addition to having a whopping 769 square inches of grill surface, this 60,800-BTU unit boasts grill-out handle lights and additional side, sear, smoker, and infrared rotisserie burners. This unit is available in propane or natural gas models.
I really like the LED tank scale, which monitors fuel status. I’m also impressed by the unit’s robust grease management system. Weber engineered the S-670 to catch grease, funneling it down into the Flavorizer bars to vaporize and enhance food flavor. What does not get vaporized flows into a catch pan, eliminating the threat of grease fire and making cleanup quick and easy.
Other highlights include a stainless steel top with a built-in thermometer, swivel casters, stainless steel burner tubes, and two spacious work areas. There’s also a rotisserie system, which utilizes a flip-up motor and separate storage for the fork and spit.

The Napoleon Prestige Pro 500 Gas Grill is a full-sized grill made of marine-grade 304-stainless steel, which means it’s as sleek as it is tough. To start, it comes with six burners, 900 square inches of cooking area, and 80,000 BTUs of cooking output.
This grill has several unique extras that most grills don’t. In addition to nightlight control knobs and an illuminated storage shelving unit, Napoleon added an extra shelf with a bottle opener, condiment and towel holders, an integrated ice bucket, and a cutting board. If you like to host large gatherings but are tired of being stuck in the kitchen away from your guests, this might be the unit for you.
Unlike most stainless steel outdoor grills, Napoleon Grills patented a wave-style cooking grid, which keeps food from falling apart and slipping down through the grill.
Another convenient feature is the side burner, which heats to 1800°C in a few seconds, allowing you to sear your meat steak-house style. If you want to self-baste your meals, move over to the rotisserie burner and work from there.
There’s a lot to like about this unit, particularly its versatility.
Miss the smell and rich flavor you used to get from a cheap charcoal grill? All you have to do is remove a tray, add charcoal, and start cooking.

In addition to the main burner, the S-470 is equipped with side, rotisserie, sear, and smoker burners—plus, it has a stainless steel smoker box.
Like Weber’s other S-series grills, the 470 uses the Flavorizer bar system, which adds extra flavor to your food by vaporizing drippings while also preventing grease flare-ups and simplifying clean-up.
Other features include a front-mounted lighted control panel, stainless steel cooking grates, six hooks to hang your cooking hardware, and two stainless steel work areas. There’s also a tuck-away rotisserie system with a flip-up motor and separate spit and fork storage.

The Weber Genesis II S-335 Grill shares the same specs as the S-335. The only difference is that the LP runs on natural gas instead of propane.
If you need a quick rundown, here’s what you’ll get: 669 square inches of cooking space, iGrill 3 compatibility, a sauté burner, searing station, warming rack, an enclosed storage area, and the same grease management system that minimizes clean up. As with the S-335 propane unit, Weber backs its natural gas model with the same 10-year warranty.

9. Char-Broil Performance 300 2-Burner Gas Grill
The Char-Broil Performance 300 is a two-burner, 24,000-BTU stainless steel propane grill that provides 300 square inches of primary cooking space, plus an additional 100-square-inch swing-away rack, ideal for warming sides and toasting buns.
Those looking for style, durability, and convenience, will like the stainless steel design, which features a lid-mounted temperature gauge and fold-down shelving system. Additional features include a push-button ignition, a removable grease pan for easy cleanup, and a compact design that weighs in at only 82.5 pounds.
All the hardware below the grill, including the burner tubes and shields, is also stainless steel. I like that Char-Broil chose to use porcelain-coated cast-iron grates on this unit. This not only deters rust and prevents food from sticking, but it also makes the grill easier to clean.
Because of its size, the Char-Broil Performance 300 heats up quickly, cooks food evenly, and doesn’t take up a lot of space. The grill is moderately priced, easy to put together (all you need is a Phillips screwdriver), and compact, making this an ideal unit if you’re on a budget but still want to make a solid investment.

10. Napoleon LEX605 Gas Grill
Napoleon’s LEX605 is packed with 850 square inches of cooking space and has a double-walled stainless steel lid, which retains heat and ensures even cooking. It also utilizes stainless steel wave cooking grids to keep your food where it belongs.
If you’re a night griller like I am, you’ll love the I-GLOW backlit control system, which illuminates your control knobs. I also like the versatility of this unit. On one grill, I can sear over infrared heat or bake on the grill as if it’s an oven, all while I work on a savory sauce on the range side burner. Searing is quick and easy, thanks to the infrared burner.
For those who like to entertain, the LEX605 may be an ideal choice. Napoleon’s design allows you to cook up to 32 burgers at one time and even has a built-in ice bucket and cutting board, giving you the flexibility to share a drink or dice up your sides without ever leaving the party.
True to its name, the Napoleon LEX605 is built from high-quality stainless steel, yet the price tag makes it an accessible and worthy grilling investment.

11. Megamaster 820-0033M Propane Gas Grill
The Megamaster 820-0033M is built for adventure. Inside this 16-inch stainless steel firebox are 199 square inches of cooking space and two burners that supply up to 16,000 BTUs of evenly distributed heat. Not bad at all, especially when you consider the cost and features of this little unit.
This grill weighs under 20 pounds and includes foldable legs and a lid lock system designed for easy, lightweight transportation, making it ideal for road trips, camping trips, picnics, and tailgating.
Below the hood, you’ll find a stainless steel cooking grid. Underneath that rest two stainless steel flame tamers. These distribute heat around the entire cooking surface and protect the burners from drippings. Each burner is controlled independently and easily ignited with the dial’s press and turn.
This grill may be small, but that’s exactly why I’ve included it in my list! It’s one of the best portable stainless steel grill models I’ve found. It’s tough, lightweight and easy to carry, inexpensive, and includes everything you need—and nothing that you don’t.
- Heat-resistant and rust-resistant finish
- Durable stainless steel cooking grid
- A cooking power of 16,000 total BTUs
12. Weber Genesis II LX S-240 2-Burner Gas Grill
Like other grills in Weber’s Genesis series, the Weber Genesis II LX S-240 comprises four key features: the infinity ignition system, Flavorizer bars, a robust grease management system, and steel burners.
Other notable features include a handy LED light that illuminates the grill for evening cookouts, iGrill 3 compatibility, illuminated control knobs, and an additional simmering burner.
The S-240 is compact, yet it provides 380 square inches of cooking, not including the space you gain with the 114 square inch warming rack.
The S-240 is a two-burner grill and, because of that, is ideal for a family or small groups. Weber’s 10-year warranty backs the grill.

13. Broil King Regal S590 5-Burner Gas Grill
The Broil King Regal S590 is a heavy-duty 5-burner grill that includes main, side, and rotisserie burners that provide 80,000 BTUs of combined output across 625 square inches of cooking space.
The S590 has many cool features, but I’ll start by talking about the built-in performance grilling technology. The cook box is deep and durable, and so are the cooking grids, which means better heat retention and longer life. Also in play are Broil King’s dual-tube burner technology (which includes 10 rows of flame), flow valves that stabilize flames and provide temperature control in even the peskiest weather, and a built-in thermometer.
Broil King uses a stainless steel cooking system that evenly distributes heat, protects the burners, and vaporizes drippings. Another perk is that the cast iron grids are double-sided. I use the pointed side when I want to get those classic steakhouse sear marks and switch to the smooth side for continuous basting.
If you’re a griller on the run, you’ll like that this unit heats up to 700 degrees in just five minutes. It also comes with a motorized rotisserie, has a great side burner, illuminated LED knobs, and excellent heat distribution for even cooking.
The S590 is American-made and includes an impressive set of warranties. These include a limited lifetime cook box warranty, a 10-year warranty on burners and cooking grids, and a 2-year warranty on parts and paint.
- Patented stainless steel Dual-Tube burners with 2 ribbons of flame per burner and a 15-year warranty
- Flav-r-Wave heat plates that provide the ultimate in even heat and vaporization; delivering real grilled flavor

14. Dyna-Glo 4 Burner Stainless Steel Gas Grill
The Dyna-Glo DGE is a medium-sized four-burner grill with 646 square inches of cooking space with a side burner, warming rack, and 52,000 BTUs of cooking power. This Dyna-Glo grill can cook up to 24 burgers at once, making it ideal for large gatherings and outdoor parties.
This is a sturdy, no-frills unit that’s been whittled down to the basics. So while you won’t find LED lighting, iGrill 3 compatibility, or any of the other extras that come with higher-end grills, you do get stainless steel construction from top to bottom. The price tag makes this a good choice for casual grillers on a budget.
The Dyna-Glo DGE is sleek and well constructed, but it’s certainly not a showpiece. I appreciate the addition of the two side tables but wish that I could fold them down for easy storage. That said, this grill is built to cook great-tasting food. It achieves that goal and does it well.
- 4 stainless steel commercial grade straight tube burners (10,000 BTU's each), and a side burner (12,000 BTU's)
- 52,000 TOTAL BTU's of heat-generating cooking power with electronic ignition and infinite setting control valves power a...

15. Lion Premium Grills L75623 32″ Natural Gas Grill
The Lion Premium Grills L75623 32″ is a four-burner natural gas grill that includes 830 square inches of cooking space and 750,000 BTUs of heat. It weighs in at 170 pounds and doesn’t sit on a cart, so this unit is best suited for outdoor kitchens and patios that already have built-in cabinets and are plumbed for natural gas.
This grill comes with plenty of extras, including an adjustable warming rack, an infrared rotisserie backburner, interior lights, a cover, a smoker box, a griddle, and a bottle opener that doubles as a griddle remover. The stainless steel grates look great when they’re fresh out of the box, but I would have preferred cast iron with a porcelain coating.
The warranty on this stainless steel BBQ grill is multi-tiered. The stainless steel burners, frame housing, and cooking grates all come with a lifetime warranty. The flame tamer has a limited three-year warranty, and a one-year warranty backs the natural gas valves and additional components.
- Dimensions: Top View - 31" W x 24 1/4" D | Front View - 32" W x 21 1/2" H
- Natural Gas powered grill
- 830 sq. inches of cooking surface
What is the best stainless steel gas grill available?
So what is the best stainless steel grill for you? Ultimately, that depends on your budget, needs, and preference.
If I was shopping for the best stainless steel gas BBQ and money was no object, I’d choose the Napoleon Pro 500 for a few reasons.
First, it has 900 square inches of cooking space. I also like that it’s an all-in-one party package that includes ample shelving, towel holders, an ice bucket, and other extras. Then there’s the wave-style cooking grid.
Finally, Napoleon Pro 500 doubles as a smoker and can use charcoal as a fuel source.
If you’re on a budget but don’t want to compromise on cooking space, power, and extras, I’d recommend the Monument 17842. It has 723 square inches of cooking area, LED knobs, a rotisserie kit, and plenty of BTUs to cook great-tasting food for a crowd.
Happy grilling!
